Many medications like antibiotics or other test compounds provided in drinking water for rodents are light-sensitive and may degrade in just a few hours in normal ambient light levels. Since most water bottles are clear, this means bottles have to be protected with wraps or other types of covers to preserve drug integrity.
This light-protective water bottles safeguards your light-sensitive liquids. Both the Optimice and Optirat GenII autowater cages can accommodate the use of these water bottles, for example when medicated water or weanlings are being accommodated.

Recommendations: Customers may purchase these bottles to protect light-sensitive compounds placed in the water from degrading or to have a strong visual (color) indicator to indicate the presence of water in cages (for example, weaning with water bottle supplementation during a transition to autowater. If you already have a large number of Optimice/Optirat GenII standard water bottles, you have a large supply of caps, and can therefore purchase a bottle only, and use your existing caps.  Purchase one bottle per Optimice cage and two bottles per Optirat GenII cage.
